Some additional items. The medals are part of 2 hoards that I found about 20 feet apart. These are part of the 2300 that I dug back in 1998. 105 were sterling silver, 1 was gold. These medals were buried in 1958 before the building was burned. They are from all over the world. Priest would bring them back for the nuns who took care of the priests. Once the decision was made to burn the building for a fire exercise, the reverend mother must have buried the medals. The area turned into a jungle over the 40 years the land sat vacant. A dozer came buy to level and start a construction project and just nipped the soil and as luck would have it I was there when it happened. The first day me and my son, with a sifter, because there were so many, found over 700. The next day we completed the first cache and then found a second cache about 20 feet away. This was one had a lot more. We found over 2300 medals with my buddies finding another 200 plus. The story was published in the Eastern Western mag in the best finds in 1998 . I presented the church group who located nearby, 2-frames displays with hundreds of medals. I also with a priest buried, over 800 medals that were damaged with the sisters who took care of the priest up on the hill.
So when someone tells me they found a religious medal ..... or they post a religious medal, I just say nice.... and move on without another word...

I think my favorite is the bottle opener 🙂. Have you ever found a law enforcement badge?

My guns have killed less people than Ted Kennedy's car.
