Hi All,

I was hunting a plowed corn field near my home when I got a nice signal on my XLT. I looked down and saw the edge of a silver coin and picked up the first of 8 coins I would find in this small area in the middle of the field. It took me about 5 hunts(about 8 hours) to get them all. They were in the area of about 200 x 50 feet dating from 1708 to 1762. There were 4 2-reales and 4 one-reales. That without a doubt was the best few hunts of my life. I found these coins about 3 years ago and the same fields are still giving up good coins!!!

Thanks for looking,

Brian

Way to go.

What size search head did you have on your XLT when you found them?

How deep were the Spanish coins typically?

Makes you wonder what would happen if you had one of the big search heads that go to 20+ inches... Who knows what else lurks there.

Really exciting.

Thanks for letting me live vicariously through your experience!

I was using the standard coil when I found them. The field was just plowed and the coins were anywere from 1 inch to 6 inches. Lots of fun!!

Hi Rich,

I live in Plainville, smack dab in the center of the state. I have done a little hunting out that way in Colchester and Mudus. Lots of cellar holes out that way. Most have been pounded to death but I got a few nice coins and relics out there.

Take Care,

Brian
