I was asked to clean out an old storage shed located on family property located in
California's "Gold Country".

I found these coins while braving wasps and black widow spiders.
They are from Canada, Australia, Ireland, and the US.
The small copper coin is a 1930's Arizona Sales Tax token.
The dog licence is from 1967 and Contra Costa county.

I also found some old telephone books, Life magazines from the 1960's, and lots of other stuff besides coins.

The owner didn't want any of the stuff so I kept it.

A 1940's Lux cuckoo clock is now mounted on my wall, it doesn't work but looks nice.

Great finds. Would love to see a picture of the clock if you have one. Just goes to show that you never know where you can find treasure.

As requested, picture of Cuckoo Clock:

shed_cuckoo_clock.jpg

The Cuckoo Clock is a Lux model made around 1940.

I looked up the clock and here is what I found about it:

Syroco wood carvings, dial and cuckoo door on wood case, LUX U.S.A. on
dial. Height, 11 Inches to bottom of face. Width, 8 Inches. Fitted with
a LUX one day double weight driven movement. Metal cuckoo bird emerges
from behind the door and counts the hours and again on the half hour.
The original bellows were made of Bakelite. Metal pine cone weights,
metal clock hands, metal pendulum rod with Syroco wood maple leaf bob.
Made by The Lux Clock Mfg. Co. Waterbury, Conn.
Distributed through The DELUXE Clock & Mfg. Co. New York City.

Were the weights and pendulum with the clock? If so, then what are the symptoms of it not working.

Nice find regardless
