FOUND MOSTLY IN NORTHERH VA. AREA. I'VE FOUND ABOUT 17 PLATES AND BUCKLES IN MY 30 ODD YEARS OF MD. STARTED IN THE 70'S WHEN I GOT OUT OF THE ARMY( ALIVE.)68-70. MY DAD STARTED OUT IN THE EARLY 60'S. HE HAD AN OLD MINE DECTECTOR. BIG AND VERY HEAVY THING. HE COULD FIND BIG IRON RELICS WITH THAT OLD THING. OUR FIRST DETECTOR WERE THE OLD METROTEC'S. WASN'T VERY GOOD IN BAD GROUND.THEM WHITE', NOW 250 ACE. AVG, DAY BACK THEN WAS 100 BULLETS. A US PLATE OR BREAST PLATE. BEST DAY I EVER HAD WAS 2-US BOX PLATES -1- SWORD BELT PLATE I- US BREAST PLATE. ABOUT 200 BULLETS. & AN ODD AVC.BUTTON. ALSO A 1812 BREAST PLATE .OH, THEY WERE THE GOOD OLD DAYS. NOW YOU GO OUT AND MAYBE FIND 1-SHOT BULLET AND THINK YOU HAD A GOOD DAY .LOL!. THANKS FOR LOOKING. WISH I COULD TELL YOU THE STORY ABOUT EACH ONE ! I WOULD HAVE TO WRITE A NOVEL,SORRY! ....DOUG

Plum50:

Real nice collection. I lived in Stafford for about 13 years and was a land surveyor for a bit. Ran across some neat stuff doing that job. I remember walking behind the bulldozers and picking up bullets and stuff. Oh those were the days. Sure do miss the relic hunting.

Plumb50,

Thank you for sharing your amazing collection of plates. I love to hear stories of the "good old days". Hopefully I'll have my day and find that ever elusive plate.
