Sword Belt Plate

While I mostly enjoy open field hunting, I found this Sword Belt Plate, an 1862 Indian and a period button down by a creek bank here in SE Penna. I almost passed over the belt plate as it sounded too loud and shallow, like a pop can signal. It's depth was about 7".

Congrats, That is great stuff, can't wait to get back to the states.The finds in Korea are just not as cool as the good old US, also do you think that will stop a 50 Cal shell,because I could use it.LOL.

That Sword Belt Plate is a rare great find. Congratulations.
I'm working on about 100 acre of land that saw some Civil War
action, I hope I get lucky and find one of those.

Nice finds. The 1862 Indian you refer to...Why do you call it that? I found one that I thought at first was an Indian head penny but after looking closer it was a CW token. Haven't seen any posted before (yours being the first) and got a lecture about it when I posted a question on the token board about the one I found. Can you post a closeup of the front and back for me. I saw a picture of the one I have (1862) in one of my reference books but have found no more info on it. Then again I haven't researched it very hard.
