hi went to corolla nc. (outer banks) last weekend . wind was blowing 40 miles an hour . got about a dollar in change
then i hit a silver coin 1643 about a foot and a half down . took it to a pawn shop to see if it was real he told me oh yes , and he said it was worth one thousand to two thousand.
Dayum.....................Congrats Scooterl. You know come to think of it, I lost one just like that the last time I was up there. Dont suppose you'll be kind enough to return it
hi i have both the whites dfx and the minelab excalibur 1000 i was using the excal . i dont think the dfx will go as deep as the excal. i love both of them. the dfx tell me what it is . found this coin at corolla nc beach last weekend.
the gye at the pawn shop was more excided to see it than me . he was just telling me what he thought it was worth and he said he could make me a bisel to go around it. i didnt want to leave it with him. just finding it .
If you get good pictures of both sides & give measurements, then I can give you a full ID & price.

A real man thinks about detecting every 6 seconds
Unfortunately the pictures are still not clear enough. There were many Mints during the Civil War & many different die types even at the same mint. This is worth getting a expert description.
It is a Halfcrown which was a huge amount of money at the time. Only 10% of people would have ever handled one.
