This group of eight Slave Tags were dug in December-2007.

L-R-Top to Bottom

1852-SERVANT
1829-SERVANT
1838-SERVANT
1838-SERVANT (again)
1850-SERVANT-NECK-Very Rare
1855-SERVANT
1840-PORTER
1856-SERVANT

CARPENTER,MECHANICK and PORTER...bottom photos.

PORTER and SERVANT...very bottom.I dug these two in 2006.

The group of eight tags are shown on page #8 in the current Western & Eastern Treasures Magazine.
2007-Best Finds Issue-April-2008.I highly recommend this treasure magazine to everyone.

I was very fortunate to dig 11 Slave Tags in 2007.My wife is my digging partner and has dug four tags. She kills me on buttons and silver. :)

In January of 2007 I dug an extremely rare Lafar 1813 CARPENTER Tag...Only four known.

In March I dug an 1837 MECHANICK (sic) (German Style of spelling)...Less than ten known.

I also dug this 1844-SERVANT in January-07 and my wife dug the 1856-SERVANT two weeks ago.

My wife dug the 1832-PORTER in July of 2005.

I dug the 1846 W.W.Wilbur Slave Auctioneer's Token with the eight December tags.

Enjoy.and thanks for looking........B.H.

Hi BH

Nice Relics in the tags... so many different ones.

It is not a time to be proud of, but then a relic is a relic. Seems no matter how far we go... there is still more room for improvement.

Thanks for sharing the slave tags with us... i did not know things like that existed (yankee). Know that even though you collect such tags that you are not responsible for that period in our past, but rather allowing Light to shine upon it.

I honor you in doing this.

i saw these in the magazine too. just amazing! it would be an incredible find to dig one tag, but a group like this is incredible! slave tags are extremely rare, and even more rare when you consider how valueable it was to the slave who lost it. if you were a slave that tag was probably your most important possesion in life. just an amazing group of relics!

BH....congratulations on some fantastic finds and on your inclusion in the best finds edition of W&E Treasures Magazine . :o :o :o

These undoubtedly are the real deal. I know there are knock-offs being sold on Ebay. :-\

Can you give us a little more info on the type of areas you hunt? Just a generalization?? :)

That is some impressive finds there. I would imagine from what I know about the prices of such items, that collection would be worth a ton of money. You have done well!
