Went out again this weekend to a local park in Richmond area. Not only found this 1918 Mercury but also an 1828 Large Cent which is my first one of those. Am currently cleaning the large cent and will post it as soon as Im finished. This picture of the dime is after a mild cleaning, but I cant believe the shape this is in for its age. I used to make fun or people who hunted parks. Not anymore!

Hey Damien

Welcome to TreasureNet

In the old parks people would sit under trees and have picnics and it was easy for a coin or two to fall from a pocket into the grass and eventually becoming buried, so finding old coins in old parks is a fun thing to do. Glad that you are finding the old stuff.

Nice Mercury dime and i am anxious top see the large cent after you are done with its cleaning.

Thanks for sharing with us

Happy hunting

Nice find I found a 1918 mercury dime the other day. I haven't found very many so they are special when you do find them. I be that was cool to find a large cent. My oldest coin so far is a 1891 indian head penny. I live in West Texas so it is hard to find anything older than the mid-late 1800's here.

2008 finds
1-1918 merc dime
1-1950 rosie dime
1-1944 Australian florin(silver)
20- Wheaties (1940's-1950's)
several rings and necklaces
TONS of CLAD
