So many colonial sites to hunt....so little time.
1787 New Jersey Copper
Found this today 4/6/08 and figured I'd post it here as it definitely qualifies as one of my best finds. 1787 New Jersey copper Maris 63-s variety. Here is a link to the story of the find...posted in today's finds... http://forum.treasurenet.com/index.p...,150975.0.html
Large copper total for 2008 --7
1797 Draped Bust large cent
1809 Classic Head half cent
1787 New Jersey copper (Maris 63-s variety)
1845 Braided hair large cent (holed)
1835 hard times token (Walsh's General Store)
No detail coppers--2

just wondering where you found this... what state an town? I was up in NJ this weekend an didn't know where to hunt.. went to a few beaches which I found nothing at any of them.. then hit a few tot lots an got 33 cents in clad.. not a very good weekend hunting...

Nice! Someday Ill take the tour down to the Eastern U.S. to look for some of those Colonial Goodies!

It was actually found in upstate New York. I'd prefer to keep the town a secret though because it's a site that I share with someone else.
