seeing how few posted in the last 5 years gives one an idea how scarce these are to dig. Most dug only one, a few lucky individuals digging more than one.

Awesome finds, congrats to all of you.

Since the original post I have found two additional wax seals, so two with the actual seal and one only the fob, glass seal missing.

If mine, I'd just leave it.

Agreed.

#1. rule in Antiques... Do not clean.

A good rinse and dry with paper towel... LIGHT wipe / rub with same semi wet paper towel will do.
NEVER... "restore" an antique...
No matter how bad.
Also,,,
Never... ever use a chemical on an antique... or "buff" clean...
What makes an antique "desirable" is its look... Especially in metals.
Which is called "Patina"... Which you never want to remove.

The only real exception to this rule is when it comes to silver... and when rarely tarnished / discolored... gold.

I have a question that has ALWAYS bugged me with these relics.

HOW were they reverse carved with such fine detail?
I would LOVE to see the tools used to create these items.

Just look at all the struck counterfeit coins from that era.... they had some skill!

Wow! I like every single seal that was posted. I laugh though, the OP only has 3 more seals than I do!
