Re: my arrowheads collection
That's a really neat collection. How do you go about finding Indian arrowheads? I've only found one and that was because it just happened to be in a hole with a wheat penny. That was on the grounds of a local high school. Where do you hunt to find such beauties?

Re: my arrowheads collection
skierbob i look in farm fields ,alot of construction sites,i walk along the river bank on the higher banks and where the bank is eroding away,i found a spot in the woods along a lake made by glaciers and there was flint and points just laying on the hill tops in the woods

Thanks for the info. Man, that's a lot of hiking and treking and climbing. You're in better shape than I am. Happy hunting.

Re: my arrowheads collection
the paper tag is where i put a number on them so i can catalog when and where i found them.after awhile it gets hard to remember where i found a piece at ,putting a number and writing the number and a short description helps me remember.
thanks for looking at my collection ,i hope u all enjoy them as much as i do.

Re: my arrowheads collection
You're outstanding in your field! Sorry couldn't resist. Fantastic collection you have there. One idea you might be interested in as far as keeping track of where you found them goes and as an alternative to the paper tags.. get a fine felt tip pen and mark right on the artifact and then put a dab of clear nail polish over it. It blends in nice enough that you don't hardly notice it. On black artifacts I put a tiny spot of white-out on it, then the i.d. number and then the nail polish. Just and idea. Thanks for posting-
