My mineral collection
Hello fellow treasure hunters, this is my first post on this forum. I have collected fossils, indian artifacts, rocks & minerals, and metal detected for at least 40 years. I have enjoyed this forum very much. It is very informative. I was introduced to this site by Scotto. We have hunted together lately quite a bit.
Here are pics of part of my mineral collection, will post more pics of fossils & Indian Artifacts at a later time, looking forward to more of the same good posts.

Do you have Jesus in your heart?
Re: My mineral collection
Fossis,
Did you find and cut and polish all of those?
Very nice. Thats what I want to try next.
Had a uncle from Idaho that found all kinds of nice nice rocks but was to intersted in other things to care. Now I wish I had spent the time paying attention.

Re: My mineral collection
Hey Wildrider, I didn't do any of the cutting or polishing,
I trade Fossil ferns & Petrified wood for the Minerals, we have coal mines in my area of AR, & OK, so I collect & trade
I wish I had collected more, in my travels also, but (alas) I was looking mostly for Girls back then, LOL.

Re: My mineral collection
I've collected rocks since I was a kid, I've always wanted one of those pyrite "sand dollars"(can't remember what they're called). Last time I saw one at a show, the guy wanted WAY too much money for it(well over $100). Maybe now that I'm a big kid I should go get one. Anyways, nice rocks, man.
I noticed that no-one really utilizes all the signature space provided, so I figured to be REALLY original I would make up the longest signature that I could and probably just leave it as one big run on sentence because all that punctuation just takes up way too much space-HH.

If you are talking about the one that looks like a
lily pad, I have heard them called, "miner's dollars", they
were brought out of the coal mines by the workers.
That sounds awful high to me.
Thanks, Fossis................

Re: My mineral collection
A sight to behold. So much more interesting than a run-of-the-mill coin collection or a bunch of baseball cards or something. To me, there are few things more pleasing to the eye than a lovely, cared-for gem and mineral collection.
