Just picked up this clean WW 2 bring back. Has the waffen inspection marks and was assembled in 1943.
I have not told the wife yet...What momma don't know won't hurt her.
i'm not a gun enthusiast but if i was that would be a good choice. and keeping secrets from the spouse only makes the element more exciting ? oh boy i cant wait to get married ? i have so many many secrets. one is that i come to treasurenet.
Daddy brought one and this Dreyse back from Germany after the War. I got the Dreyse and my brother got the P38. Never was sure if I made the right choice, but the other day, I found the release certificate, so I guess it was meant to be either way. The P38 was a good shooter though. Still have the leather holsters. If my brother would ever stop by to see me, I'd happily give him the one for his. I envy close families. I guess that's why I hang around here so much. Boy, have I digressed.
That's an excellent piece! I have that exact type too, Walther P38, 1943 dated and Waffenhampt marked as well. My grandfather bought it from a man who brought it back.
Really nice looking! That would complement any collection very well. I wish I still owned that Russian Makarov I had. But sadly, that was the ex-wife's pistol. Wasn't my place to tell her she couldn't take her pistol with her.
