We have been in a local drought since mid summer here, as evidenced by my pond being dried up for only the 3rd time in over 30 years! The colors are late this year and as usual, some trees are turning long before others. I also am now hosting 7 turkeys daily instead of the original two. This must be a bunch of young ones with an older hen or two, since now the group includes two males, which have the beard but no red neck or head yet.
The trees that have color now are Gum trees, Sassafras, Tulip Popular and the berries on the wild Holly are now turning red.
The predominant Oak trees in the area and my Maples are still solid green!
