I'm the same way aa. They had a mothballed Huey at a flag ceremony for Vets day a couple years back. Just had to reach over the ropes and touch her. :-[

They just removed the Cobras and the Hueys from a Nat. Guard Unit 4 miles south of here from the Grand Ledge unit.
They took one of each, mounted them on big pedistals, will have to try and grab some pics.
Now we have Blackhawks and Chinooks flying over the house on a daily basis, headed I assume to Camp Grayling Michigan.
We get the occasional A-10 Warthogs over the house also.

there is a repair depot here close to where i metal detect an old airbase

Here`s one already mounted in northern Wisconsin, would love to get one ride in one of these.


Are these still serviceable if removed from the pole?

Great pics. The Air Force Base where my sister is has several static displays on the base. I was told that the engines are on the base, somewhere, and if need be those planes could be put back into service..Don't know if it is true or not. Hope it helps.

Love watching the birds flying around we are kinda in an area that they fly over some in between McConnell Air Base, Vance Air Base
