I got out for a hour yesterday, and the detecting gods were not with me, so before I left I noticed there was a bit of color left in this area I was hunting, so most likely this is the end of fall colors here, but always enjoy seeing it every year. I saw something yesterday I have not seem much of lately and tried like heck to get it to "pose" for a photograph. A cute Red Squirrel. They used to be very common around here, and used to bug the heck out of me when I used to bow hunt years ago. They would come within a few feet of me and start chattering away at me, I would be throwing acorns at them to get them to shut up so I could continue hunting. :D Seems like once Gray Squirrel population increased in the area, the Red Squirrels just vanished.
