I tried to quickly get some photos of the Moon, Venus and Jupiter in the night sky right now, today, Dec 1st is the closest all three will appear in the sky and unfortunately for me, a big cloud bank has moved in and I just quickly tried to get set up for a few photos and did not do so well, So, here is a normal view photo showing the postions of the three, and then I got one closeup of Venus, not sure why it looks so bumpity, but it does........

Not sure if the view will be available tomorrow night, and also how long they three are relatively close together in the sky, but anyone who loves photographing the night sky, this is your chance to get those shots.

Don

I was able to see it all the way home from work as the skies were crystal clear - just before I got home the clouds rolled in, so no photos. It was a very neat sight though!

Thanks for the pic, Don  I saw it last night and it was totally awesome, I too thought about a pic but my camera does not do good pics of the galaxy. I did step inside to tell the man of the house to step out to take a look. ;D

 RR

Just as beautiful tonight as last night. Wish someone would tell me how to take a good pic of it. I'm using Olympus DC FE-170, I set in on "night portrait".

This is what I got... :-[ :-[

I can't help you on your settings RR except that it looks like either the exposure was too long or the tripod was wiggling. To be honest with you though, I kinda like your photo - it looks pretty neat :)

I saw thousands of snowflakes, and gray skies. Nothing like that around here.
