Our family rented a cabin on a ranch here in OK for Christmas day, we ate good food, built a fire in the fireplace, played games, decorated the tree with 'handmade ornaments'.
But as soon as I could, I melted away to the lake & rocky ridge to explore, I found a few rusty pieces of metal, glass, one piece of flint, an old 'chamber pot' complete with bulletholes near a 'buck rub' (pine tree) old wheels of a mowing machine, granite ware pan, & took pic's of some Buffalo.
it was in the 60 degree range, I had on 'short sleeves' most of the day. :icon_sunny:

I would want to stay the night and wake up there Christmas AM!

Our weather is 50% chance of severe storms in our area (which means probably not) I think your area has got a greater risk! So you be careful to, PLEASE!

Beautiful cabin and setting.

Thundering and lightning here since about 6 am, foggy as all get out, snow melting as I type this and raining.

Gonna be a rough day for lots of folks in the midwest for sure.

Burrrr Our temps fell from 76 to 34 in 1 hour going down to 22. We had the most rain in the state during the storms in the wee hours a full inch (which isnt relly much) ! They are saying snow a dusting and sleet today but looking out the window the sun is shining right now!

Fossis how is your area from what they were showing you still have some severe storms for a while today?

bbqbull I dont really like fog we had a couple days of that it is a mess! But sounds like you are going to warm up some today!

Just also for a min want to let you know thinking of you today and praying all works out.

Now that's the way to spend Christmas...in a rustic little cabin in the mountains. I do love that furniture.

Love, love, love the cabin (said w/ leg flouncing in the air)

AND...what a GREAT idea, hand-made ornaments.

What a wonderous Christmas memory!
