These are Ruby-Throated Hummingbirds, the male has the ruby throat but the female remains a pretty green colour. Takes lots of time & patience to photograph these birds but worth it.
I have also had them drink, while holding the feeder in my hand, that was neat, good feeling.

They fly south for winter, always makes me wonder how they travel so far, such little birds.

They don't fly south.... they wait for a light breeze and let it blow them that direction. LOL

Excellent shots! :thumbsup: I've tried taking some myself and have an idea what it takes to get just a few good ones.

I put up 3 feeders every April, take down late September, really enjoy the little hummers, especially like how frisky they are in late summer, chasing each other away from the feeders. Cool on them coming so close to you. My one son sat in a chair one year holding a small twig in his hand and a Hummer came and sat on it, did not have the camera then with me!!!

Good photos I tried to get a picture of a humming bird mind didn't come out good need a new camera with better zoom what kind of camera were you using :) :icon_sunny: :thumbsup:
