Left on a jet plane Tuesday morning for Fort Meyers to pick up a car, drove back Tuesday, wednesday and today. I do not ever wish these experiences on the road to anybody. Everything was fine till we got into middle Georgia ( north on I-75 ). It started with tiny bit of ice on the white lines, and the further north we went, the worse it got, when we got to Berea, Ky. we stopped for the night. We didn't know it, but the Motel 8 that we stayed at just got their power back 1/2 hour before we got there :o. They had lost power from the ice storm very early in the day. Then when we got close to Cincinnati, were we ever in for a surprise, all 3 Northbound lanes were sheet and washboard ICE ??? Saw many wrecks, took a few pics. Other than that we had no problems. Took us 4 hours to go 40 miles! enjoy the Gulf of Mexico I-75 pics when we stopped at a roadside park for a break...........NGE

Thanks Gypsy  Everytime we were forced to stop, we gave thanks to the Lord for protecting us. And He did a wonderful job, no close calls and everyone around us pretty much stayed in their own lanes. Oh, there were a few ding-a-lings >:(, who decided that they were above the rest and used the shoulders, only to be seen in the medians begging for help. They put their trust in the wrong place ;D..........NGE

We got hit hard in OK & AR also, 7,000 power poles down in AR, some rural customers may not get power
until March.
In our area, we didn't lose it 'thank goodness', melting off & :icon_sunny: today.
Glad you made the trip safely.

Hello, NGE,

Agood thing you had your trust in the right place. I'm glad you made it downthere and back safely. You had a lot riding on that trip. I'll bet your buddy was real thankful when both you guys and the car made it back all in one piece. And I'll
bet your wife was doing a lot of praying to get you back safe.
These are some nice pics. Thanks for sharing.

Ray

Ray.... We were supposed to get two cars, and I advised my friend that his other " too good to be true " deal was just that, had bad paint job to cover rust spots that were already poking back through. So for that decision, he bought me a really nice and delicious baby back rib dinner . Then we drove only 1 car back. When we got home we thanked the Lord for a job well done and for keeping us in His plans of us not taking 2 cars home. It was safer and better to have 2 taking turns driving. When it warms back up in the spring, we will be bringing 2 at a time home again.............NGE

Nice pics though I'm partial to the first set. I've seen enough snow and ice this winter. Thanks for sharing.
