Hello. sasnz, Nice pics. That tree; is it one of those Manion or Manyon trees? not sure how it is spelled. Saw one of those down In Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. The branches grow for 20 or 30 feet or more and sprout new trees way out from the trunk of the original. It was an amazing thing to see. Your tree here reminds me of that one. Nice views.

The tree in question is a pohutukawa tree, and the biggest one i have every seen. around November, December they sprout a red flower and is actually quite attractive even tho i am not really into trees i thought this one was kinda cool.The tree is a native to new zealand. read the link below for more info. I have included another pic so you can get a idea of the size of it, not tall but wide.

Great pics from a beautiful country. I was on the south island for a spell at CHC. The only part i saw of the north island was the airport.
