Is that truck that is loaded with the firewood coming to my house? I need to start stocking up for wood for the summer. Most of my cooking is done outside over the fire ring.

Nice pics, and a first to see a tree shaped like that.

Happy Valentines Day to you too.

Outside over the fire ring, maybe you could take some pictures of your setup of that, I would love to see it!

Sorry, it's already been delivered, :'(, another tree had grown close to this one we think, fell & rotted away, then left the 'indention' in the side of the tree.

Re: HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY (from the woodcutters)

Cool shots, Fossis. My family is from down around Quinton. In the old days we cut firewood with axes. We cut stove wood pretty short, a foot to a foot and a half. Regular firewood was about a couple of feet. Right now you should have half your firewood left. Coal was much better if you could get it, and that's what we used when I grew up in western Oklahoma. There weren't a whole lot of trees, but when we could afford it we could buy coal at the railroad depot. And now we call that the good old days? Haha. Later.

Thanks, we also had folks who burned coal, even though we were surrounded by 'forests', but the indians in Western OK mostly used 'dried buffalo dung', so maybe we had it good.

...and many times camping I've used 'cow patties'. It burns cleaner than you would think and makes a real hot fire. All ya'll Yankees be sure and only use the dry ones. Or not. Haha.
