I went out today with 'Okiepackrat', & prowled around a local Mt, we found rocks in a tree root, hollow trees, odd rocks, Fossil impressions, bluffs, dug some 'Sasafrass roots' for a person, to make (Tea), burl wood, creek that 'disappeared under ground,' even found a 14' chain.
the weather was a 'Balmy 70's'. :icon_sunny:

Great pics, Fossis  Now that chain is well worth finding, you can use it. Sassafras tea some of the best, I have roots several years old that still make a good tea.

 RR

Hi Lots of interesting details here. I like the one with the square rock sticking out of the piece of wood. With
country like that around you would,'t lack for fun times.
Great weather you have there. Lucky you. LOL

Thanks for sharing the results of an interesting walk.

Ray

Thanks Cyn, we seem to have an 'abundance' of places to hunt, every time we go out, we come back with my truck full of something we can use.
We feel for you in the cold country, I have already started to 'weedeat' the weeds in my garden & yard. :icon_sunny:

Thanks Judie, do you peel the roots, or boil them all?
I gave 'Packrat' $5.00 for the chain, he found it, he has a nose like a 'bloodhound', finds all sorts of things. ;D

I love the fossil! How in the heck did you spot that in that big rock? Tell me about the rock with the etching? on it. Another fossil?

OK Judie tell us how you make the tea from the roots.

Thanks for the warm walk Fossis, still frozen in here. Think Spring!

A "Balmy 70 Degrees". Rub it in, Fossis. I could use that chain, though. This one's just for you. Notice it is a Chevrolet. (haha) You're alright, bud!

We were looking for a ledge of possible (Obsidian), not known in this area of the country, but Packrat's father took him there when he was about 13, we didn't find that, but we are always looking for oddities, & fossils.
the rock with the 'etchings' is just a concretion of sorts, just odd patterns formed by nature.
You just boil the roots, & add sugar I have been told, supposed to 'Thin the blood'. :icon_scratch:

I wouldn't 'rub it in', I feel your chill. ::)
But when we are sweating through the (Heat & Humidity) in the summer, you guys are 'cool & composed'.
