When I lived on the west coast, I remember there was an actual hunting season for Banded Doves or Pigeons? I don't think we have them on the East Coast. There is a Morning Dove season in most states but this was not for Morning Doves.

Doves used to leave the area for winter back in the 60's I thought, guess now they have decided to stay north and become bird feeder chatters! :thumbsup:

Mourning doves are native to my part of the country and live here year around. There are many that do migrate eacyear however. I have a pair nesting in my oak tree right now. You should see their nests. It's just about 3 sticks and a tuft of grass. Makes you wonder how the chicks survive, but there are millions of them hatched each year. Monty
