While Okiepackrat & I were driving around the countryside, we saw two snakes 'sunning' themselves, several old houseplaces that we are going to try to get permission to detect, old railroad beds & culverts, cellar made of stone.
He used to live in the area, & his Dad told him the story of how it was a 'hub' of coal mining, with a hotel, & miner's houses.
We also went by the 'Reynolds Castle', which he hadn't seen before, (If I have posted this already), please forgive me. :icon_scratch:
I also investigated a 'carving' for the late Gloria Farley on the hill behind the Castle, it was a 'huge' flat stone, as long as a pick-up truck, eight " thick, & six ' high, but is was only a man's name, with no date.
The 'Castle' is behind the stone wall & fence, (not very plain), I didn't want to push the button & go in for a tour. :P

We call them (black snakes). :)
The 'Castle' is behind the rock wall away up the hill, couldn't get closer.

What a great group of photos and places to detect. I wish you could have gotten closer to the castle....that must be something else! Didn't much like the snakes though....imagine that!
