That was indeed a good day for you both with quality time together. There is a bumper sticker that says

GRAND KIDS ARE SO MUCH FUN WE SHOULD HAVE HAD THEM FIRST.

Since my dad and I used to prowl (and fossil hunt) a lot of the same territory, it's always a pleasure to hitch a ride with you here on TNet.

(That old house with the dogtrot looks really familiar.)

Thanks PBK, I also explained what a 'dogtrot' was, (for those who don't know), it's a hallway through the house, folks used to sit on their porches in nice weather, & the 'dogs' liked to lie there in the shade & maybe catch a breeze.
The old man who lived there, (before my time), used to come out when my Mother & Sister would walk down the lane to the mailbox, he would say: come in Sister & get you a cool drink of water.
One place where we detected, (house with 13 kids), had a house there in Civil War times, with two 'dogtrots', (in an x shape), with 16 rooms. :P
