Here are some pics i had taken a few years ago, I know that they are not todays snapshots but their are so many beautiful photos on here i thought that i would share with what i have got, These were taken august 2003. while down there we were in a 7.2 magnatude quake, luckly we were on hard bed rock were we were staying but still shook the house around but it was the noise that was impressive. Something like a million freight trains at full speed, will never forget that. Anyhow enjoy the pics. The first one was the morning in mt hut and i simply cant describe the colours as the sun rose. The picture sort of gives you the idea but i guess you had to be there.

Wow, no wonder they film so many movies & shows there, it's beautiful, that first one is just awesome and that one like 5 down, is that a sandstone formation? And that is a stamp mill in the last photo right?

The sandstone rocks are at a place called punakaiki on the west coast. because of the wear the waves have generated over the years there are big blowholes when the sea is running a little rough. As you can see on the back drop the sea was calm and so didnt get the magical display. Apparently it is world renown. The stamp battery is from a old abandoned gold town called Macetown, I have a few pics of this so thought i would start another thread a bit later. Glad you liked the pics.

Those are some spectacular photos. I hated those small tunnels getting there. The tour buses made me a little anxious.
