Bannerman's Arsenal on the Hudson.

I took these photos over Easter weekend, from the shoreline, looking out at the island.
I've been passing this place so closely all my life without ever knowing it was there.
Then I saw a post about it here on T-net about a month ago, and made it a point to get a closer look at it the next time I was in the vicinity.
Hope you like.

Wow, I'd like to see up close and be able to wander around it and explore it good. That place kind
of beckons to you to come closer for a look-see. Even the walls would be interesting to look over.

Thanks for sharing. a great pic.

Both Bannerman's and Flayderman's Catalogues are wonderful sources for ID'ing relics. I have both and use them often. Man, I wish the prices Bannerman had listed were still available! :-) I also read once that he used mountains of CW rifle barrels and cannons to re-enforce the concrete when he had his shipping docks constructed.

Nice pics, BK!
Far better than the original ones I'd posted.
Would you be able to get in closer to it? Without getting into trouble?

...There probably is quite a few relics there, following that fire.
Also, there may be relics underwater, where the pier was.

I suspect there's NEVER been a ship to shore loading operation where something didn't fall overboard!
