My daughter and I have been following this thread. We are hoping to see the outcome. Our money is on some type of moth.

DM--here's some pics from today--not much change in the eggs. I hope the rain didn't kill the little wormies ;D

Wonder how long eggs take to hatch ? And that is a great link!
I don't know how long they'll take to hatch. And when they do, I'm sure its gonna be little worms/caterpillars and they'll probably crawl off. We've been watching them and checking everyday, but it might take a few warm days to help speed up the hatching. I think its got to be some kind of moth ,because by looking at the pictures of the eggs, you can see a curled up worm looking thing inside.

jamey--this has been something cool to us, too. I thought everyone would laugh at us for posting this ;D :tongue3:. My kids just love anything to do with the outdoors and we try to find things to keep them interested in the wonders God puts before us! Even something as small as a bug egg.
Kind regards~~sandcreek4

That is so cool. Better not take the car for a spin unless you send them down the road. Fun project for the kids and us,lol. Thanks sandcreek.

Yes, it has been a fun project for us. We get up and check it every morning but I think all the rain we've been getting has affected their development. We're still checking and will keep you all posted if anything "hatches" :D.
Thanks TnMountains!!

Yes it would be cool to metal detect Frank Phillips yard. And think of all the stuff that has been thrown in the old Caney River. There are dumps all along the river!! And I can just imagine the things that get washed into the river everytime B'ville floods(which is pretty often!).
I think there used to be a Indian trading post in Bartlesville somewhere? :icon_scratch:. That would be another good spot to detect.
thanks olepossum for your comments!

Ahh! The sun! I really thought a stick frog must have laid the eggs when you first posted. Guess not. Isn't there a metal-detecting entimologist(bug geek) on the forum ?

Maggots?!?! I'm going to wash the window right now :tongue3:.
NGE--I have heard of tree frogs but these eggs are really tiny about the size of a pea :icon_scratch:.
I guess we'll just have to keep watching them to see what comes out.
thanks for the comments, NGE.
