Now those are pretty, bud. In Oklahoma, the lilac bushes indicated an old home place. I ain't getting the sumac picture, I guess. We pronounced it 'shoe-make'. It's related to poison ivy. You can suck on or make a tea from the stag horn sumac berries that tastes like lemonade. Stay away from poison sumac, that has white berries.

This is not the poison type, this is an invasive tree, when I was a youngun' and was bad, grandma would make us go out to the " Switch " tree, and prepare our own punishment, you break off a branch then strip off the leaves, end grain looks like a horseshoe, and after removing the leaves, the twig tapers slowly to a whiplike end, And I'll tell ya one thing, I never want to get hit with one of those again.........NGE

Ok man, are you sure were not related somehow! You just brought back memories of having to select our own "spankin sticks" lol My grandma was mean! I mean she wouldn't let us out of the yard and if we did. Which happened alot! We would have to go out to the big willow tree which obviously be stripped before of its lower branches through the years and "assume the position" Maan that lady was wicked!
