Thanks for the replies. I am told that this particular bird spends most of his waking hours in this same spot.......NGE

Were you fishing? If so, i bet the lazy a$$ wanted your fish. This happened to me in melbourne, florida. I was fishing off a dock in the river (or bay) and this tall bird, i think it was some kind of heron would come a few feet behind me and wait for me to catch a fish. Every time i reeled in a fish that bird came and took it right off my hook! Those things freak me out, they look like dinosaurs in the eyes. lol I went fishing everyday i was there and that bird was always there waiting on me to catch his dinner. It was disgusting watching it gauge the poor fish eyes out. I don't eat fish i put them back so imagine how i felt. :(

If you weren't fishing then i don't know what to tell ya. Is it mating season? lol
