Thanks. Took the photo this afternoon in my parent's backyard in Jarrettsville, Maryland. Here's one more. If you look closely, you'll see the toad about a foot behind him. That's how I found them.

It's a Canon XSi and I was using the standard 18-55mm IS kit lens. It's a great entry-level DSLR, especially if you combine the kit lens with Canon's reasonably priced 55-250mm IS lens. I took the following with the latter through our kitchen window back in February. The red-shouldered hawk was sitting in a hickory tree next to my small fish pond. He spends a lot of time there hunting frogs (although I'm not exactly sure what he was expecting to find in the middle of winter).
