I don't know anything about mushrooms, other than they're going like crazy around here this past few weeks. Lots of rain! Between rains, I rode around in the woods looking for different varieties. Some of them are so pretty they should have been a flower.

Wow! That's a big variety of mushrooms. And you're right, some of those do look as pretty as a flower--beautiful color!
Good pics, Nana!

Those are great mushroom pics. I was having a slow day at the golf course, one day about two weeks ago and did the same thing. If you don't mind, I'll add a few more to your collection.

I took about 50 pics. Most of them were in the woods along the cart path, but there WERE several growing on the course.

Love the pics you guys - Some, would be edible - others deadly! Be safe - enjoy - Only pick the ones you are 100% sure about and always get a second opinion.
Best wishes,
David.

Great pics folks, I was going to take some also, but was not in the laying on the ground mode to do so, so glad others did. I think 2009 in the Northeast has been the wettest summer I can remember (locally) and the amount of mushrooms, just on my property alone was unbelievable! In the past month while exploring in the woods, I came upon area after area that was solid with mushrooms an mushrooms of all types, shapes and color. Guess it is a Fungi year :tongue3:
