It's all relative...

This small tree is a little confused. It is growing off the end of a root that had all the soil washed away in a past high water condition. The parent tree is growing up on and a little away from the present bank of the creek. Funny what happens to the root when exposed to sunlight. The root will start to produce bark and, well, it is all relative after all....

That's interesting, and I'm relieved that it has nothing to do with an Abercrombie and Fitch t-shirt. (if you know what I mean)

Pretty amazing to me how the roots propagate, it's new to me, have been spreading some ivy and roses around here.
