Along The River & Through The Woods
This morning was 'very cold', so I hung around the house , but after it started to 'warm up' I went prowling along the river & through the woods.
pic's are, barbed wire growing through a tree, mushrooms, twisted tree, mussel shell, bug trails, etc......, found a flatbottom boat, I will bring a chainsaw & cut a large tree off it, take it home, & put an ad in the paper.
I found a 'Hornet's nest' in a tall sapling, I shot the limb off with my 22 rifle, & brought it home.
(No hornets were harmed), they were all dead, I read that a 'pregnant queen' hibernates through the winter, then in the spring builds a small nest, lays her eggs, then after the young hatch, they help build it bigger, & the cycle continues.

Thanks Ray, sometimes folks forget to tie them high enough, & they get away, I like to look through the drifts, I never need to buy 'fishing corks'.

Thanks, I always thought I might find a body, the places I go, but 'gladly' I never have.
That is , 'not a recent one', I've found teeth, & bones from Indian burials that had washed out of the ground.

I feel refreshed. As if I just took a walk through what the great musician Bob Seger reffered to as....The trusty ole woods.
Thank you for the pleasant photos

Another nice day in the woods, thanks for taking us. I feel refreshed too. I always like to find trees that have interacated with barb wire, kinda like the tree says "you can't fence ME in". Man long since left that area, but nature continues being nature. Do you know if the yellow 'shrooms are chicken-of-the-woods? It's gonna be warm today, and with this coming weekend open for does/rifles, this afternoon looks like my escape time.

Glad you enjoyed them, I think it was John Muir, who said " take a walk in the woods, & your troubles fall away like leaves".
