I picked up my buddy 'Scotto' yesterday, & we went over into SE OK to hunt for Herkimers & Green Crystals.
This is Timber Co land & they have Pine plantatons as far as the eye can see, we looked in the ditches & right off the bat I found an arrowhead, then we started finding clear crystal 'Herkimers', one was a (cluster of Herkimers), my first find of these, & when we came to the banks of a river, we found where people had been digging, & there was flint everywhere, old Indian camp.
We then drove south a few miles to the 'Green Crystal' area, we found some green, & even some with red color in them.
Scotto found 73 cents in change, :o & a root shaped like a ball, plus several crystals, & a large handful of flint, & I found a deer carcass, plus one jumped out across the road, (a live one), gave me a 'start' we had a good day.
Last pics are some Green ones I traded for, didn't find any this good yesterday.

Very cool :icon_thumleft: I wish I lived in your area, I'd be right out there with you all.

Thanks, it's a pretty good trip for me, but I go when I can.

And here I thought you could only find the herkimers in NY

It's much 'easier' here, much better than using heavy bars & hammers like in NY.

Here's the arrowhead Fossis found, surrounded on my scanner bed by a lot of the flint chips I picked up in the area. This is only about 1/4 of the flint I could have picked up.

Got some nice crystals too, but they are soaking to clean them up better.

Wish our pine plantations looked as good as these, better yet with hidden treasurers would make it more better.

Love all the finds & the water fall.

When the ground around 'Broken Bow OK' was ripped to plant trees, after a rain it looked like a field of 'white cantalopes', some were as big as basketballs, mostly a 'white milky color', mostly used for yard rocks.

Enjoyable as always fossis, I love the color of those flint flakes. Those crystals are unreal.

Thanks, I wish the arrowhead had been the 'reddish color', I gave it to Scotto since he had never found one.

Hundreds of miles of loggin roads all through the area. Good pics and good finds, Fossis. If y'all get the chance, head down into One Creek Valley. Lots of pre-Columbian Caddo occupation. I used to live across the mountain from there and found artifacts every day. One Creek Valley has also produced some of those flint 'fish hooks', which are supposed to be fake. I suspect they were used for somethin else and not fishin. Hope winter is over in Little Dixie.

You got that right :icon_thumright:
Got many of the Herkimers from NY ;D

I Think they need jackhammers & dozers up there to loosen up the rock. ;D
