See the avalanche slide path up the mountain in the middle of the pic, Fossis? Right where it makes a bend is the site of Masontown, a mining community that got wiped out by an avalanche in the 20's. The site was a base for whiskey makers during prohibition. Farther up the slide path on the left side are the remains of some old cabins most folks don't know about. Nice trail up to the town site and on up to the top of Royal Mtn., but it's a killer for folks not used to the altitude here.
