HAS ANY ONE SEEN A KIWI?MY SON AND I JUST HAD A HUNTING TRIP TO STEWART ISLAND-FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO DONT KNOW WHERE STEWART ISLAND IS ITS AT THE BOTTOM OF NEWZEALAND-1 OF ONLY 2 PLACES IN NEWZEALAND YOU CAN HUNT WHITETAIL DEER-A LOT OF PEOPLE GO TO MASONS BAY TO SEE KIWIS ,WHICH ARE OFTEN SEEN LATE AFTERNOON AND AT NITE -WE SAW A NUMBER OF KIWIS AND WHERE ABLE TO PHOTOGRAPH THEM-THEY ARENT AFRAID OF PEOPLE AND YOU CAN GET REALY CLOSE TO THEM ,A NUMBER OF WHITETAIL SEEN BUT NOT SHOT-MY SON SHOT A RED HIND -OUR ACCOMADATION IS A HUNTERS HUT WHICH HAS TO BE BOOKED A YEAR IN ADVANCE-COST IS A STAGGERING $20NZD EACH FOR 10 DAYS-OUR TRANSPORT IS BY SMALL PLANE WHICH LANDS ON THE BEACH,HOPE YOU ENJOY THE PICS-CHEERS ALL

Nice pics! Good times with your son even if you didn't get a deer. The conversion chart I looked at showed $20NZD equalling about $14 US. Is that right? Dang, I paid $3 a gallon for gasoline yesterday. Only Kiwis I ever saw were hanging in a tree. ;D

Thats some nice pictures you have there silver searcher, I was down in milford, Kayaking lake Houroko in Jan and the wether was crap but lovely area, Wanted to go to Stewart but ran out of time. Didnt know that the Kiwis run riot down there, Very cool!! I think that will be on the agenda next time, Thanks for sharing.

I have always looked at going into Christchurch and then helicopter back out for the Red Stags with Global Safaris. Dream hunt for sure. Great pictures thanks for sharing them.
