Lisa and I had a great hike today (Easter 2010) near Thain Creek in the Highwood Mountains, Montana. We got snowed on for about ten minutes but otherwise it was a perfect day.

I agree - that was one cool tree! It was a fire victim.

Yes, and the entire portion you see is damned - it's a huge circled dam.

good pictures That is the bigest beaver dam ever . I would to be down stream it it ever broke.

The biggest beaver dams I have ever seen were in Montana....amazing what them little fellers(no pun intended) can do!!

Too cool, too cool. All good pics, but that second pic is killer. That's just good, and I will study that and steal that in the future for one of my pics.

Thanks all... we had a great day! I'll bet we saw over 20 beaver dams on that creek along our hike - every one was magnificent.
