Do you see the dead snake in the road?.....that's the rattle snake......I interrupted the birds meal.....

no the birds had just started to eat it.....look at the dead snake pictures close they ate the rattle first.....and started in on the middle of the snake.....take a closer look.....

the rosy was about 3 1/2 feet long....at least.....just short of 4'.......the white stripe on the side is the road is 4" wide...

no the birds are scavengers......not attackers.....the snake was run over by a car.....the birds are opportunist.

I should have knew that ..even a dead rattler scares me for some reason :dontknow:

that picture was taken some where in the southwest......the wood is teddy bear cholla or jumping cactus.....and prickly pear behind that.....and that snake is a very healthy western diamond back.......can jump 1/2 to 3/4 its body length.....lightning fast...

They turned a bunch of rattlers loose years ago up around were my sister lives...I think to control the rodents ...So when im up at her house im always on the look out :-\....very Cavey and rocky around that area..
