Ready for a Close Up

This heron was recently chased off his hunting grounds by the redwing blackbird. It's funny to see such a little fellow bother such a big bird.

Thanks! I was probably about 25ft from the heron and the blackbird landed on a railing of a dock I was standing on. I was able to walk to within about 3-4 feet.

He let you get close, nice pictures. Herons are very photogenic, but you don't see many close ups of the redwings, I think it's my favorite of the two, nice job! That's an immature isn't it?

It's possible that this male blackbird isn't quite at a mating age, but he sure was showing off like he was :P
