Some pics of my past few days

It started Thursday evening with a visit from my friend from India, Baba. He spoke on his book, Making your mind your best friend. One of the topics he touched on was living without and dyiing without regreats. To hear him speak is such a treat so I am doubly lucky to call him my friend.

Then Friday it was off to the lake for some fishing. A sheephead (junk fish) and a whole lotta lake Erie Perch...50 in all (and I caught my limit...25). Then I discovered, AFTER I got off the lake that the limit has been upped to 30 per person. Figures.

Oh and here's one of the sky above Kelly's Island....the beginning of what was to become a horizontal rainbow. It was magical!

Was Baba's speech inspirational? I bet you are so charged after seeing him, hearing him speak.........Ive been to his website & he is really something else, I like what he says & how he says it, he just has a soft, quiet way about him. Just seems like such a great man, too bad there arent more men who think like he does in this world. You went to his talk & charged your Karma..........thats why you limited out on the fish!

Ahhhhhh, those perch are yummy! There are only a couple lakes in California that have them. I spent a lot of my childhood in Wisconsin so I've caught a lot of 'em. Did you know the sheephead have "lucky" stones in them?? The sheephead/sheepshead we have out here are in the ocean and very good eating. You can make crab salad with them.
My "imagination" is my best friend.

Yep, we'll be fryin', drinkin', signin' and dancin' this October as we save all the fish we catch (well, a lot of it) and share with family and friends at the end of the season. I'll keep ya posted.

Yeah I do know about the lucky stone I'm not a fan of the fresjhwater sheep for eatin'. I caught that hog on my perch harness.

we'll be heading out to do some walleye fishing soon! I need a new walleye pole....so until then I'll be perchin'

ng, those are yellow perch; fantastic eating. Some places call them jumbo perch. The fish you call perch are probably what we call bluegill or sunfish.
