the county fair is going on this week, nancy entered 3 items (quilts)
the first, second and third pic are of the ribbons, the next pics are
close ups of the two quilts and the last of is of her sewing at the
quilt to be auctioned off sat. night, it wont be finished by then but
it will finished and given to the winning ticket. i think she does good
work, of course i am a little bit in favor of her--lol oh by the way
this is all hand sewn and hand embroided, no machine involved....

Congrats Nancy :notworthy:

They all are beautiful. My favorite is the hummingbirds.
My mother makes quilts for everyone she thinks would enjoy them.
From sick babies in the hospital,to people in the nursing homes.Everyone
needs a special blankie  made from a hurting back, squinting eyes,
needle poked fingers, and mostly love :hello2:
Quilters are very special people.
Thanks for sharing.
NOW where's that shine :laughing7:

Beautiful quilts, Nancy :icon_thumleft: Congrats on the wins too. Yep, I too have samplings of Nancy's handcrafted needlepoint. I'm ready for some more vinegar pie, not sure about the :icon_sunny: that stuff was potent enough to grow hair on one's chest...rather male or female. :laughing9:

 RR

That is grand work but very unappreciated by many. People nowdays are so used to machines kicking out quilts and blankets by the thousands they fail to notice the talent it takes to make things by hand. I like ALL of that handmade stuff; quilted, knitted, crocheted, needle point, doily making etc., takes talent and patience. Good job!!

I like the hummingbirds better, but that lighthouse one is a winner hands down for the amount of work involved. Get us a pic of that last one she's workin on, and what is the pattern? Also, for everybody who lives in an area that still has local and county fairs, don't never ever volunteer to be a judge at those shows, unless you really know the subject and are respected as a master at it. You can be run out of town on a rail for making what the general public believes to be a miscall.
