Are pumpkins edible at that size? or are they just grown for the weigh in and showing?

Thought about you this morning, because the Denver Post had an article about two 'competitive pumpkin growers' here in Colorado, Jim and Gary Grande. Jim grew the state record for Colorado last year at 1283 pounds. The world record came out of the Ohio Valley last year, at 1725 pounds. If you get a chance, go to the Denver Post website and check the article out. There's a whole science and culture around giant vegetable growing it appears.

I'm thinking she's 400 + , but I'm hoping she's more like 500
