We have been bulldozin those tailings around a little Fossis. Lots of guys are out there with the gold detectors and findin a little. My DFX doesn't seem to be quite as good, but I brought home a few rocks I got some good readings on. If there was a good water source, this would be a good place to pan, but it's about a 1,000 ft. down the mountain to the creek. Some of those guys told me they do a little better farther on over at the Little Johnny mine, but I haven't made it over there yet.

You're right Colorado14ers as I saw your pics of the big building. This is to the west and up on the hill. And in case Curbdiggercarl looks in, this is the place, around the falling apart building, that some of the boys working the tailings told me a couple of gold coins were found. Strange, they didn't have the slightest interest in coin detecting, so I suspect they are doin better in the tailings than they let on.

Beautiful pictures for sure. Been in the area a couple of times. Don't give up on checking tailings as I have friends that have found a couple of awesome (wish we had found them :) ) quartz and gold samples. They weren't small ones. Found them with metal detectors.

Your pictures are always as good as your posts which will stand by themselves anytime . I lived in
the old town of Dillon as a kid .
Connie Lynn Offerson was my favorite girl and her little brother Jimmie was my buddie . She got
killed after we left and her stone is one of those pictured on Dillon's cemetary website of those moved when the water came up . Don't know what ever happened to Jimmie .
