Re: Rouge River

For anyone actually wanting to go there, this is the Rogue River in Southern Oregon. Rouge is found on certain cheeks.

Took this and a few others today. Might try to post more if I get time to process them tonight.

If anyone has seen a movie called "Rooster Cogburn and the Lady", this is way up the river from where the raft scenes were filmed.

That is some beautiful country, but I wouldn't hold much hope for Jeff Bridges to show up for the remake.

Last year my son and I were fishing on the Rogue about a mile from Woodruff bridge, and I saw my first wild beaver cuisin down stream. When the beaver saw us he slapped that tail down hard on the surface of the water and dove down deep, startled me. The most beautiful river I've ever been to.

Thanks hikeinmt, and ALL

I live near Crescent Lake, about 80 miles south of Bend.

Yes I know where Elgin is, it's a beautiful area, especially when you get over to the Wallowa lake area. I was over there last summer, but did not take any pictures.
