I just adopted a rescue dog. Someone called the police and said that there were puppies in the river. The river here is flowing fast and has a lot of ice in it. The police responded and when they got there, they could see two dogs in the river. One of the officers, "Ryan", jumped in the river and threw one up on the shore. The other puppy disappeared. We don't know how many were originally in the river, but they believe someone through them in.

The vet said the dog was semi-comatose when they brought it in. It was full of worms, so they had to de-worm it. The tail was docked and the dew claws had been removed so it seems that someone originally planned to keep them. I just don't understand how someone could toss puppies in a river. >:(

So... we decided to foster care the puppy for the weekend for the vet and we fell in love with him. We adopted him this morning.

This is "Ryan" the River Dog! They think he is a Labrador-Springer mix... A "Labradinger"

Ryan seems to right at home, I am sure he will reward you many times over for your kindness. They have unconditional love. Never could understand how anyone can be so cruel as to mistreat an animal. You are number one in my book, Thank you and have a wonderful day.

Who can argue with a moderator, especially when they're right :icon_thumleft:, great story of the rescue, shame more didn't survive, even bigger shame they didn't pull the wrotting corpse of the scum that threw them in the river. Anyway, on a lighter note, A BIG WELL DONE :hello2: from me for adopting Ryan and I hope you will post frequent pics of his growing up . Good luck to you, Ryan and your family .

I know this is a treasure hunting metal detecting website, but man this is one story worthy of "Honorable Mention" if I EVER read one!

Just my opinion, nothing more and nothing less!

Thanks everyone!
I'm sitting here watching my 70 pound dog and my 5 pound dog having a tug of war with a toy. LOL! Amazing how gentle the big dog is with him.

Puppies are so lovable and hugable, and when they get playing tug-of-war they are so cute and funny. :laughing7:

The little one and the big one and you and family will soon all be the best of buddies. :laughing9:

Have a good day and God Bless.

Thanks again everyone! I plan to make sure that Ryan the river dog gets to visit Ryan the policeman who saved him. I think their first reunion will be
amazing. I'll try to get a picture.

Stefen... your puppy is cute too! Thanks for posting the picture!

I'm like a new parent! Ha Ha! I just have to post one more picture. When he gets tired, he just drops where his is.
