I have been rather 'tied up' lately with all the storm damage, limbs to pick up, & cleaning the yard.
Also taking care of my young chicken flock, they are five weeks old now, & i haven't gotten out to take any pic's, so I got a few pic's locally.
The water is a 'ox bow lake' created when the ancient river changed it's course.

Been there, done that, stay strong and do you have all the help you need? I'll say a prayer for ya for now, or more later if needed. Omg, I just realized where your at, about! I worked with all the social serv's offices, Choctaw, Shawnee & Potawatamee Nations, omg, I worked here in Fl for HMA outta Naples, medical biller for 15 years, they own Med Ctr SE Ok Durant, Midwest Reg Med Ctr., those hospitals were my charges. I still got my rolladex, if I can't get to you to help, I can get on the phone and get someone(trustworthy, of course) to you. We'll need to talk pm, tomorow, it's almost midnight and I got an early morning. PM me right away, if you really need something important done.
I got to get a better camera than that 20 year old Kodak Easy Share.
Pic's are breathtaking! Thanks for sharing.

Wow fossis, small world! Love and prayers honey, Patsy

Hey Patsy, it is a 'small world', thanks for the offer of help, but we were very lucky with small damages compared to others in the SE, plus the flooding is getting bad on the Mississippi.
Your parrots are 'a hoot'.

I think the flowers are called 'five spots', ahhh, can't you just breath in the green? Love this time of year. That lake is cool :icon_thumleft: I like finding creek ox-bows, special little treats from nature.

Thanks for the I.D., it sure is getting green after all the rain we had.
I found several Indian Artifacts around an 'oxbow lake' in Ar years ago. :icon_sunny:

Nice pics. I always liked spring in SE OK. Have you got a mess of poke salad and wild onions yet? Ticks are bad, but at least you can see them. Chiggers are the most dangerous animal on the face of the earth. If they was as big as a dog, they could eat a man plum up.

Thanks, we are getting a break from storms for a while, & our drought is broken, & things are greening up.
I stay out of the 'tick & chigger' areas all I can, except when picking blackberries, (gotta have at least one cobbler).

Nice pics fossis. I got 20 chicks about 6 months ago now and, between them and the other 8, were getting about 22 eggs a day. The younger hans are still laying the smaller, pullet eggs but they are getting bigger. All 20 of the younger ones are Rhode Island Reds. We give some eggs away, eat a bunch ourselves and sell enough to pay for their feed. Nothing like fresh, ranch eggs.

Thanks, you're right about the taste of 'free range eggs', no comparison to the others.
My chicks will be laying around Oct, I have RR Reds, Buff Orpingtons, Black Austrolorpes, & Barred Rocks.
