I went out with a friend at 5.30 am today to take some pics around the marshes and fields. I hope you enjoy the tour

This first shot is of a Swallow warming itself up in the morning sun
1.jpg
As we climbed up on to the sea wall this Egret flew over, heading towards the marshes
2.jpg
The early morning sun shining on the creeks
3.jpg
These three flew over next, I think they are Terns, but not positive
4.jpg
This is a causeway over to one of the many islands around here
5.jpg
This is a view I have photographed before, but I really like it.
6.jpg
The Egret that flew over earlier, looking for breakfast
7.jpg
When I got home about 10am, the village fete was just starting to get going. I had the 500mm lens on, so this is all I could get.
8.jpg
The next three are some more Swallows in flight late this afternoon/early evening
9.jpg
10.jpg
11.jpg
An finally, of course, Benson having one of his many daily baths
12.jpg

I hope you liked the tour, I will take a different route next time and show you the bronze age walkway and bird sanctuary

Take care

Absolutely enjoyed the tour, no wonder Benson is such a water dog! It's nice to see a different part of the world, it would be nice to live so close to the water. thanks for taking the time :hello:

Oh Ian, I'm speechless, that never happens! :laughing7:

See, that one bird got an aura around him!
Would a duck be appropriate for crossing that creek?
Can you say "low" tide?
Fete, fete, fete!
Beautiful birds!
Good birds say,"doggie go swimming, go swimming, go splash about"!

Thanks so much, honey!

Thanks Bob, we are having a dry spell at the moment, but the creeks are tidal and the tide had just ebbed.

Hi Colin, I did eventually get my bird books out and id the Oyster catchers, thing is, I normally only see them wading, not flying and, to me, they look completely different when in the air :laughing7:. Maybe you can come down at harvest time, the battle site should be accessable then

Hey there Ian, I enjoyed your pics. Wow, when that tide goes out, it really leaves then high
and dry. My brother-in-law has a similar situation. He lives in Delaware and when he puts
his boat in the water during high tide, you can step off the dock right into the boat. Then
when you come in during low tide, you have to climb the ladder 6 or more feet up to stand
on the dock. The first time I went out fishing with him, that is what happened. I could hardly
believe my eyes at how the water had dropped before coming back in. I had always heard
of high and low tides, but growing up in Michigan had never seen it. LOL.
The Swallows look like the ones we have here when in flight.
I can see that Benson sure loves the water. LOL.
Will look foreward to seeing more.

Wow that tide is crazy. Another person from Michigan here, can't imagine having my boat sitting in the muck like that. kind of limits your boating time. I won't complain about the low water level in the great lakes again. Nice pics!

Thanks "H", it' too dry to detect, so the camera is out and about ;D. But I have over 400 new acres to detect after harvest, so fingers crossed
