You can do it with 1 long exposure like 30 - 40 minutes or you can do it the way I did with this one..........79 thirty second exposures stacked in software. Settings were Manual focus, manual mode and 800 iso. I had my camera plugged into a computer that was taking the images for me with software called SMTether........it works pretty good for free. The other software was Startrails.exe which allowed me to stack the images afterwards, it was free as well!

PS - The planes crossing in the sky almost made an X right in the middle of the circle (north star).....all stars in the northern hemisphere revolve around the North Star.

Thanks for the info Bob. I'm still learning about camera settings, I think I'll leave the computer alone for taking pictures. :tongue3:
